CCA Trees & Greenspace Meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 @ 7 p.m.  Location:  Virtual Meeting (Contact ccca@centretowncitizens.ca for Zoom meeting access.)

Agenda

The meeting is a plenary for activity in calendar year 2021. It will be an interactive but structured discussion focusing on priorities and target activities.

  1. Round Robin of those present with a short listing of priorities as each participant sees them
  2. When the round robin is completed, we may have e-mail input from those unable to attend. At this point, the Chair will ask T&G Sub Committee and Working Group leads to outline any input that they have received from members. When each has outlined any such communications, there will be a short round robin by these “leads” to outlined their own sense of priorities for their respective areas of activity in case they missed something in the opening round robin or have been stimulated by suggestions. Stuart Kinmond, Chair of the Single Use Plastics and Environmental Sub-Committee; Beth Ayres, Lead of the St. Luke’s Gardening Group; Brian Beaven, Chair of the “West of Kent” Sub-Group of the Heritage Working Group of the CCA Planning Committee (re initiative to create a Heritage Conservation District centred on Dundonald Park.)
  3. Brian again on whether and how to build a working relationship with CAFES federation of Ottawa Community Associations. Looking for ideas and a lead in such matters
  4. Alice Nakanishi, CCA Treasurer and keeper of the T&G Tree Fund, relevant financial analysis
  5. Barbara Sibbald, Lead Gardener of the Dundonald Gardening [working] Group
  6. Need to address “event” activities like Earth Day in April, Minto Place Festival in June and Fall Festival event in Sept. (may already be covered in discussions above) Brian looking for a liaison person with Dundonald Park Working Group (DPWG) and Centretown Community Health Centre.
  7. Ranking exercise of priorities and proposed activities. Opportunity for members to indicate where they would like to participate.
  8. Next meeting on January 8, 2021. The minutes of the meeting of Nov 10 will serve as an outline of the discussion and will list priority activities. The meeting of January 8 will ensure that the Chair has listened to and heard the membership.
