About Our Mission

The Centretown Community Association (CCA) is a volunteer, non-profit, membership-based community association founded in 1969 to represent those who live and work within the Centretown neighbourhood in Ottawa. Our neighbourhood is bounded by Bronson Avenue on the west, the Rideau Canal on the east, the Queensway on the south, and the Ottawa River on the north.

Our Mission

To improve the quality of life for all residents of Centretown;

  • To inform, engage, and consult with Centretown residents on issues of importance in the community;

  • To promote the interests of our community with all levels of government;

  • To interact with other community groups on issues of a municipal or provincial nature;

  • To monitor and assist in the implementation of the proposals of the Centretown Development Plan.

A CCA membership helps to support our association, and allows individuals to run for the Board of Directors, vote at the Annual General Meeting, and to participate in various CCA committees.

The By-Laws of the Centretown Community Association can be read here.

All our meetings start with the CCA Land Acknowledgement and CCA Charter of Respect.

CCA Land Acknowledgement

We begin this meeting by acknowledging that we are on the unceded and unconquered territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people.

We are grateful for this opportunity and we thank all of the generations of Indigenous peoples who have taken care of and continue to take care of this land.

CCA Charter of Respect

The Centretown Community Association is committed to providing a professional, friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all participants at its meeting and events, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, skin colour, ethnicity, religion, national origin, economic situation, age or language.

We expect all participants and speakers at CCA meetings and events to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone both in conversation and in the chat room by treating each other with dignity and respect.

This requirement for respect at all times applies to all communication forums including phone and email.
